Racquetball Singles Ladder Update

Some last minute changes to our procedures and programming has resulted in a delay in the Racquetball Singles Ladder League, but things are now moving forward with more control left to the participants.

2010_rbq_singles_1At the top of the list to make sure things move forward is have each of the paid participants register on our Ladder Management System. The link is available in the IM Sports Menu above, but you can get their directly at http://unlv.recsportal.net/ladders. Please forgive the disjointed appearance, we will be working on correcting any issues throughout the week. If users do notice something that does not seem to work properly, please contact the IM Sports ASAP so it may be resolved.

Each participant must submit a request for registration for the site, including your name (User Alias) and email address. Other items are requested, but they will not be used and will eventually be removed from the system. Once you submit your request, the IM Staff will validate your request based on those who have paid.  Participants will also be placed in the correct ladder. There will be two ladders for this League - a Men's Open (13 players) and a Men's Greek (12 players). Once you get the Validation notice you will be able to navigate through the site.

PLEASE NOTE: There is quite a bit in the functionality of the site that requires the participants to work together in "Good Faith". Do not join Ladders that you do not belong to, and do not otherwise maliciously participate. Persons doing so will be immediately removed from the Ladder and reported to the Office of Student Conduct.

There will be a window of 33 hours starting at 3:15am Monday until 12:00p Tuesday where we will allow everyone the opportunity to register for the site and we will validate each of you and rank you in the appropriate groups. After that period of time, anyone wishing to be validated for this ladder will be placed at the bottom.

Other rules for the ladder:

  • Challenge replies are due no more than 24 hours from submission. Failure to respond will result in forfeit.
  • The Loser of a match must initiate the Score Reporting from the website. Once the score is reported, the Winner must confirm with the score of the match. Please use Games Won as your score, not points scored.

There are other rules of the system available on the website under "Ladder Rules" for each ladder.

Ladder Play will go through Thursday, March 18, at 11:59p. A single elimination tournament bracket will be developed at that time for the top 4 players from each ladder to be played the week of March 22.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Steven Thiele. The online system will be reviewed in depth during the Badminton Doubles Sports Orientation Meeting Tuesday, February 9, at 6:30p if you would like to ask questions then.
