There have been some changes to the general administration of the Rebel Cup process to start the 2010 Spring Semester.  Some will be implemented retroactively, some will not.

Rebel Cup/Team of the Year Points Update

The Intramural Sports Professional Staff would like to sincerely apologize for the gross delay in reporting the Rebel Cup Standings.  We have been investigating a method to make the reporting much more seamless and regular - but the resulting delay has created a frustration within the Intramural Sports Participants.  Rebel Cup Point Standings and earnings will be posted no later than Monday, February 1, at 1:00p.

Sports Orientation Meeting Attendance

For the most part, the Intramural Sports Staff recognizes that some of the information at the Sports Orientation Meetings (SOM) are repetitive - particularly if you represent an organization or group that participates in multiple IM Sports events throughout the year.  However, as this is the only opportunity for the Staff to convey to you any immediate policy changes or other adjustments to the rules for the particular sport, we feel it is important that each registered team attend the meeting.  We also feel as though the teams that register after the Priority Deadline should not have the same opportunity to earn additional points for non-attendance.

Therefore, retroactive to the beginning of the 2009 Fall Semester, each organization who was in attendance to the respective sport's SOM will earn 15 Rebel Cup Points for each team represented.  Starting in the 2010 Spring Semester, each team in attendance will receive both the 15 Rebel Cup Points as well as 15 bonus Team Rating Points for the respective sport.  This will provide a significant advantage to teams in their positioning for playoff rankings.

Rebel Cup/Team of the Year Registration

Unlike previous semesters and years, starting with the 2010 Spring Semester participation in the Rebel Cup/Team of the Year competition will not be automatically included with your registration for an Intramural Sport or Event.  Each registration form will have a location below the team name where the team must designate both an interest in earning RC Points as well as to which organization/group the points must be affiliated.

As the registration forms for both 3D Dodgeball and 5v5 Basketball were completed incorrectly, the IM Sports Staff will give each organization until Monday, February 1, at 12:00p to provide that designation.  Each team captain will be contacted directly regarding this designation.

Starting with the next sport to complete registration (Racquetball Singles) there will be no grace period or "redos".
